The Minardi PS01-F1 OW 2001 race car was a shining example of the pinnacle of mid-level budget racing technology. The car featured a low-slung carbon-fiber chassis and a flat-12 cylinder engine producing a peak of 897 horsepower. The sophisticated aerodynamics allowed the car to generate prodigious amounts of downforce to make it perfectly suited for the tight, twisty circuits of the Formula One racing paddock. The car featured a unique front suspension system, with the front shock absorbers mounted in the cars nose to reduce the moment arm and therefore reduce drag.
