The Minardi M194 F1 OW 1994 is a Formula One race car from the Minardi team, driven by Pierluigi Martini and Christian Fittipaldi. Built in Italy, it featured a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis and was powered by a Ford EDB 3.5-litre V8 engine. It was also the last Minardi to use the traditional Minardi chassis layout, known as the 'M194'. The M194 featured the classic aerodynamic styling of early 1990s Formula One, with a tall, boxy nosecone and a raised, angular sideskirt running along the middle of the car. It was designed to compete with the best cars on the grid, and with a weight of only 600 kg, it had good acceleration and agility. The M194 also had a great power-to-weight ratio, producing around 590 bhp. It was equipped with an upgraded six-speed semi-automatic transmission, as well as adjustable suspension. Its brakes were four-wheel discs, with adjustable rear brakes, allowing the driver to adjust the braking balance depending on the track conditions. The M194 was a reliable race car and, coupled with its good acceleration and agility, it made for a formidable competitor. The Italy-built Minardi proved to be competitive during its 1994 season, with Fittipaldi finishing in the points twice, and Martini managing a sizeable number of points. Ultimately, however, the M194 saw limited success during its brief Formula One career. Nevertheless, it remained a beloved classic among race fans and is now considered an important part of Minardi's legacy.
