The Minardi M187 F1 OW 1987 is a Formula One racing car designed by renowned Italian automotive designer Giacomo Caliri and built by Italian automaker Minardi for the 1987 Formula One season. It is a mid-engined machine powered by the Ford Cosworth DFZ V8 engine and a 6-speed manual transmission. The aerodynamic package consists of a specially designed front and rear wings, possibly designed by former Windtunnel Aerodynamics Group member John Gentry. Suspension is via double wishbones at the front and a transverse rocker arm in the rear. The brakes are of the ventilated disc type with 4-piston calipers up front and 2-piston calipers in the rear. The Minardi M187 F1 OW 1987 is a highly aerodynamic vehicle with a low center of gravity that allows for fantastic cornering performance. It is believed to have been one of the best-handling cars of the 1987 season, and it was driven by Italian drivers Pierluigi Martini and Andrea de Cesaris.
