The Minardi M02 F1 OW 2000 is a Formula One race car designed by Michael Funds of the Italian Formula One Team, Minardi. Built in the 1999-2000 season, the Minardi M02 is one of the most iconic vehicles in racing. The car has a fairly short wheelbase of 2.95 meters and measures 4.54 meters long and 1.76 meters wide. It is powered by a Ford Zetec-R 3.0L twin-turbocharged engine and the car itself has an overall weight of just 548 kg, making it one of the lightest Formula One cars ever built. It boasts a 5-speed semi-automatic gearbox, 16-inch front wheels and 13-inch rear wheels made from magnesium alloy, and utilizes special aerodynamic features such as a venturi which increases rear downforce by as much as 30. The M02 also featured a higher-than-usual air box, which improved airflow to the engine. This made it possible for the car to reach impressive top speeds of 350 km/h and it also had incredible acceleration of 0-100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds. Furthermore, the M02 was equipped with an advanced driving system which improved the cars ability to handle difficult curves and corners. Despite the impressive specs, the Minardi M02 suffered from reliability issues and lack of funds which resulted in relatively poor performances for the car during the 1999-2000 season. Even so, this Formula One race car is still widely remembered for its impressive specs and design, making it a true icon of the motorsport world.
