The Minardi M191 F1 OW 1991 is a historic Formula 1 racecar that is highly revered by collectors and motorsport enthusiasts alike. Originally produced for the 1991 Formula 1 season, the M191 was the first Formula 1 car to be designed by ex-Ferrari-engineer, Gustav Brunner. The M191 was equipped with a PC0299 3.5 liter Subaru flat-12 turbo engine that produced approximately 720 bhp. This power was sent to the rear wheels via a Hewland six speed manual gearbox. The lightweight composite monocoque chassis was manufactured by Ernesto Vita, and featured aerodynamic components designed to produce maximum downforce. The car was painted in striking yellow and black markings. The M191 featured a cutting-edge suspension system, allowing the car to remain extremely stable through the corners. This system incorporated four-way adjustable pushrod rear suspension and front double wishbone suspension with adjustable dampers and track control arms. Brembo calipers and ABS (anti-lock braking system) provided superior stopping power. The M191 was extremely successful, winning two races in its debut season. Despite its success, the small Italian teams budget proved to be too small to compete at the highest level, and ultimately the M191 was replaced for the 1992 season.
