The Ligier JS25 F1 OW 1985 is a classic Formula One car from the 1985 season. Built by the French constructor Guy Ligier and made legendary by the late Ayrton Senna's six podiums in its first season, the JS25 is a highly respected vehicle in the F1 world. It was the first F1 car to display the infamous "Marlboro" sponsorship on its body, and its success that season was crucial to the longevity of Ligier as a constructor. The JS25 boasts a sharp aerodynamic body comprised of various composite vacuum-formed panels with extensive use of Kevlar, carbon fiber, aluminum and titanium reinforced panels. Its chassis is robust enough to ensure a solid suspension set up designed to aid the driver in cornering and stability on the straights. The powertrain of the JS25 consists of a powerful 3.5-liter Cosworth DFV, double overhead cam V8 engine attached to a Hewland 5-speed manual gearbox for precise gear ratio selections and revs. The engine is capable of revving up to 11,500 RPM and producing nearly 550 to 650 horsepower. The combination of the chassis and powertrain configuration allowed the Ligier JS25 F1 OW 1985 to break new boundaries in terms of speed and handling. Its exceptional speed is attributed to the excellent balance throughout the car and its powerful engine, which allows it to accelerate to 100 km/h in a mere 3.3 seconds. Drivers are able to take corners at near uncomparable speeds and maintain confidence in the car while doing so. This level of handling is enhanced by the reliable brakes, which are comprised of four-piston calipers at both the front and rear. The Ligier JS25 is an iconic F1 car of the mid-1980s. Its revolutionary powertrain and chassis design, in combination with the aerodynamic body, made it a desirable and exemplary car in its era, and to this day it remains a much sought-after classic F1 race car.
