The Object 263 was a Soviet tank destroyer developed in the early 1960s. It was designed to replace the ISU-152 tank destroyer, which was in service with the Soviet Army at the time. The Object 263 was armed with a powerful 130mm gun, which was capable of firing high-explosive, armor-piercing, and HEAT rounds. It had a range of up to 4 kilometers and was capable of destroying enemy tanks at long distances. The tank destroyer had a thick layer of armor plating, which provided excellent protection against enemy fire. The tank destroyer had a crew of four and a rear-mounted engine, which provided good mobility and maneuverability on the battlefield. It also had a range of advanced sensors and communication equipment to aid in battlefield awareness and target acquisition. The Object 263 saw limited service in the Soviet Army in the 1960s and 1970s. It was eventually replaced by more advanced tank destroyers, such as the 2S7 Pion.
