Specifications Object 268 blueprint

The Object 268 was a Soviet-era heavy tank destroyer developed in the late 1950s and early 1960s. It was designed to replace the ISU-152 tank destroyer, which was in service with the Soviet Army at the time. The Object 268 was armed with a powerful 152mm gun, which was capable of firing high-explosive, armor-piercing, and HEAT rounds. It had a range of up to 3 kilometers and was capable of destroying enemy tanks at long distances. The tank destroyer had a thick layer of armor plating, which provided excellent protection against enemy fire. The tank destroyer had a crew of four and a rear-mounted engine, which provided good mobility and maneuverability on the battlefield. It also had a range of advanced sensors and communication equipment to aid in battlefield awareness and target acquisition. Despite its promising design, the Object 268 never entered production due to the high cost of development and the advent of more advanced tank destroyers, such as the 2S7 Pion. However, several prototypes were built and tested, and the tank destroyer remains an important piece of Soviet military technology history.
