The BRM Stanley P201 F1 OW 1974 is a classic example of a British Racing Motors (BRM) single-seater open wheel racing car from the early 1970s. The P201 was the first BRM model to have a monocoque chassis, a one-piece unit combining the frame and body. It was fitted with a 2.5 litre Ford-Cosworth V8 engine, producing around 420bhp at 8,000 rpm. The car featured a Hewland MK9 five-speed manual gearbox, twin fuel tanks, independent suspension, inboard and outboard brakes, and a lengthened wheelbase. The P201's aerodynamic design helped to provide the downforce needed to keep the car stable at speed, with its two large air intakes in the nose feeding the radiators underneath and directing air over the rear wing. The bodywork was crafted in aluminium and featured distinctive graphics on the nose, sides, and tail. The striking orange livery of BRM colours was the preferred colour for the P201, making it stand out from the crowd. The P201 was raced from 1973-1974 in several Formula One races and was highly successful, helping to solidify BRM's place in grand prix history.
