The BRM P25 F1 OW 1956 is a vintage Formula 1 racer and a pioneering car in the history of motorsport. This racing classic was designed and built by the legendary British racing manufacturer BRM (British Racing Motors) as a challenger to the dominant frontrunning Constructor's Championship winning Ferrari. With an unusual design that featured a four-cylinder 1.5 liter supercharged engine built into the rear of the mid-engine car, the BRM P25 F1 OW was the first of its kind to power a mid-engine chassis. This iconic car became the stage for a de-facto Formula 1 race in 1956, and would eventually go on to become iconic in the annals of motorsport history. Its lightweight tubular spaceframe chassis was made of steel and aluminium alloy, and combined with the supercharged, balanced four cylinder engine, this made it an incredibly competitive and successful racing automobile. The engine was capable of producing an impressive 287bhp, making it an exceptionally fast competitor in the 1956 season. The car's elegant four-spoked wheels, four-spoke steering wheel, large air-intake, and large cockpit with seating for a driver and one passenger added a sense of style that gave the vehicle an identity all of its own. Despite its short-lived competitive career in the 1956 season, the BRM P25 F1 OW remains a unique testament to the power and agility of vintage Formula 1 racing.
