The Tyrrell 020B F1 GP OW 1992 is a single-seater, open-wheel racing car that was introduced for the 1992 Formula One season. Developed by Tyrrell Racing Organisation under the technical direction of Harvey Postlethwaite, the 020B is powered by a 3.5 litre Ford V8 engine which produced 600 bhp of power, allowing the car to reach top speeds over 276 km/h. The chassis was a carbon fibre composite monocoque construction, with the car at just the minimum 605 kg weight limit as per FIA regulations. Suspension was independent at all four corners with four way active damper suspension, while the brakes were ventilated carbon discs with six calipers. The aerodynamic design of the 020B focused on optimising air flows around the car, not just through the use of spoilers, but also with the intelligent use of the wheel wells. The overall design was a Smooth wedge shape, with the raised nose and high sidepods. The car featured a sculpted cockpit for the driver and an advanced primitive high centre of gravity design, which allowed the car to cope with cornering forces better then most of its competition. The Tyrrell 020B F1 GP OW 1992 featured an on board data system, which allowed the driver to quickly and easily monitor engine performance, also, lateral and longitudinal acceleration. It also had specifiable wheel alignment setup which allowed the team to rapidly adjust the car to individual track conditions. The Tyrrell 020B F1 GP OW 1992 was raced by Jos Verstappen and Philippe Alliot during the 1992 season, achieving a total of five championship points and a best finish of 6th position at the Hungarian Grand Prix. After a disappointing season, the car was replaced with the Tyrrell 023 for the 1993 season.
