The Tyrrell 020B Ilmor F1 OW 1992 was a remarkable Formula One car designed and engineered by the legendary Peter Tyrrell in collaboration with Ilmor Engineering. It featured many advanced technologies for its time, in particular a comprehensive aerodynamic package that helped bring the car to the cutting edge of racing performance. Steering components of this car included adjustable chassis geometry, power-assisted steering, and an adjustable rear anti-roll bar. The 020Bs engine was an Ilmor I-Type 2.0-liter V10 capable of producing 550 horsepower with a maximum speed of 326 km/h. External features included a light composite top body panel and the Tyrrell Ellipse logo painted on its sides. The most eye-catching design feature, however, was the characteristic Tyrrell yellow, white, and light blue livery, which helped prevent heat buildup and improved aerodynamics. The suspension system of the 020B featured Formula One-specification torsion bars at the front and rear, and dual-tech shock absorbers for improved handling. Braking power was provided by ATE two-piece vented discs with four-piston brake calipers. In addition, the car was outfitted with advanced features such as ABS and traction control, which worked in tandem to improve stability and reduce wheelspin on cornering. Slick tires mounted on 16in magnesium alloy wheels were also fitted to lessen rolling resistance and maximize speed. Overall, the Tyrrell 020B Ilmor F1 OW 1992 was an incredibly advanced Formula One car for its time and it certainly had the performance to prove it.
