The Buell S1 Lightning was a popular American motorcycle produced by the former American motorcycle company, Buell Motors. It was available between 1998 and 2002 and attracted the attention of the power cruisers market. The S1 Lightning had an innovative chassis and featured many unique design features. Its all-black bodywork made the bike look very intimidating and its short wheelbase gave it a nimble and responsive ride. Its 41mm Showa forks and adjustable Öhlins shock gave the bike exceptional handling which was perfect for attacking roads and street corners. The S1 Lightning was powered by Buell's own Rotax sourced, air-cooled, 984cc four-cylinder engine which was capable of a remarkable 82 horsepower and a top speed of more than 135mph. The engine was equipped with high performance components, such as the triple Weber 45 carburetor and twin Exhaust. The S1 Lightning was one of the most powerful and reliable of the Buells, making it a desirable choice for riders looking for a no-nonsense street fighter. Its lightweight aluminum frame, and distinctive Buell styling, made the S1 Lightning a truly stunning motorcycle. It was also popular with collectors and is now a much sought after motorcycle in the vintage bike market.
