The Lotus 38 Coupe 1965 is a mid-size, two-seat coupe built by British automaker Lotus. With a stylish body and robust engine, the Lotus 38 was ahead of its time for its era. It was the first mid-engined production car and offered a unique driving experience. The Lotus 38 featured a lightweight boxy body finished in a range of two-tone colors. Beneath the body was a Ford-sourced 2.7-liter V8 engine coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission. The lightweight construction meant the Lotus 38 was capable of reaching speeds of up to 130 mph. The interior featured sport bucket seats trimmed in leather, and a selection of gauges and toggle switches for the power windows. The low stance and wide stance gave the vehicle a streamlined look, while the clean lines of the body were complimented by chrome accents. Additionally, it came equipped with a limited-slip differential, larger brakes, and a small-spoke steering wheel. The Lotus 38 Coupe 1965 was a revolutionary vehicle that married style and performance, not to mention, it was Lotus' first production mid-engined sports car.
