The Arrows A23 F1 OW 2002 is a front-wheel-drive Formula 1 racing car developed from Arrows' successful 2001 A22 chassis and the as-yet unused A23. The chassis was designed by Gustav Brunner and constructed by Dallara, and it featured a mono-cylinder turbocharged 3.0 liter engine developed by Ozwald Asiatech. This engine delivered a maximum output of 790 horsepower and was capable of revving up to and beyond 19000 rpm. The A23 chassis also featured an aerodynamics package consisting of a carbon-fiber composite monocoque chassis, intricate side pods with double air scoops, low-drag bodywork, a low nose, and a distinctive rear wing and diffuser, giving it superior downforce and reduced drag characteristics compared to previous season Arrows cars. The A23 also featured lightweight brakes and suspension components, as well as a six-speed semi-automatic sequential gearbox designed by Hewland, that offered smooth and rapid gear shifts. This enabled the Arrows A23 to quickly accelerate and reach a top speed of over 210 mph. Even today, the Arrows A23 F1 OW 2002 is seen as one of the most successful F1 cars.
