The Surtees TS9B Ford BFV OW 1972 is a legendary racing car during a golden era of Formula One. The TS9B was designed and developed by British racecar designer John Surtees, and was the first Surtees car to have an aluminum monocoque chassis and a Ford DFV V8 engine, giving it incredible power and speed on the race track. The engine was a 3 liter V8 capable of producing 470 hp and an astonishing 7,800 rpm - well above the 7,000 rpm limit imposed by the Formula 1 governing body. The transmission featured Hewland DG300 gearbox with four speeds as standard, giving the TS9B excellent acceleration and speed. It was also equipped with Dunlop tires on magnesium wheels, allowing it to blaze through curves and corners even at top speed. The TS9B had aerodynamic features that allowed it to run smoothly at high speeds, although it was still considered a dragger due to its heavy weight. Its exterior was iconic, with its smallish body size, low nose, and bright orange livery. This car is a true classic from a legendary era of Formula 1 and will always hold a special place in the hearts of racing fans all over the world.
