The Sauber C14 was a Formula One car driven by Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Karl Wendlinger for the 1995 season. It was designed by Leo Ress, Peter Sauber and Leo Ress and powered by a Ford HBA1 3.0 litre V8 engine. The C14 was one of the lighter cars on the grid, which was partially achieved by the use of a smaller fuel tank than many of the other cars which allowed for weight saving. The car combined a well-balanced aerodynamic design with a robust chassis and suspension set up which made it capable of competitive performance in races. The bodywork was characterized by a high nose and arrow winglets, as well as sidepods which had some similarities to the Benetton B194. The car was not a front runner, but managed to score points with both its drivers in a number of races, including a 2nd place finish for Frentzen at the 1995 San Marino Grand Prix. Throughout the season, the car proved reliable and was able to challenge most cars on the grid in terms of its straight line speed and overall performance. The C14 was a solid entry level car for Sauber and enabled them to establish their place in Formula One.
