The Lamborghini Urraco is a sports car from the Italian automaker Lamborghini. It is a 4-seater coup, designed by designer Marcello Gandini for the coachbuilder Bertone. Engineer Paolo Stanzani considers Urraco to be the most innovative Lamborghini designed under his responsibility. It was presented at the Turin Motor Show in autumn 1970 but, due to technical and financial problems (Lamborghini sold 51 of the company in 1972), was not marketed until 1973, in the midst of the oil crisis. . The Urraco will be produced in four models: P250, P250 Tipo 111, P200 and P300. Urraco means a little bull in Spanish bullfighting, while the designation P, which means Posteriore (rear position), is followed by the engine displacement. They all have a transversely mounted V8 engine. The gearbox is mounted on the left side of the engine, an extension of the block, has five gears, and is coupled to a Lamborghini differential. The steel frame forms with the body a monocoque structure. The Urraco also has independent suspensions on all four wheels, self-ventilated brakes and magnesium rims.
