The Brabham BT26 F1 Grand Prix (GP) car of 1968 was an impressive example of engineering excellence. Built by the Brabham team, the BT26 was the 10th race car produced by the company and the first in its final winning form. It featured a lightweight aluminum chassis with a stylish silhouette, and a powerful 3-liter Ford Cosworth DFV engine that propelled it to record-breaking speeds. With a total weight of just over 1100 pounds, the BT26 could torque off the line with incredible agility and reach a top speed of nearly 220 mph. The car also had enormous stopping power, thanks to its massive 12-inch brake discs, four-piston calipers, and slick Goodyear tires. With its menacing black and gold livery, the BT26 had an unmistakable presence on the track, a presence that equated with victory. Its domination of the 1968 Formula 1 season was absolute as drivers Jack Brabham and Denny Hulme took a total of seven wins and 11 podiums between them. With its iconic appearance, record-breaking performance, and stunning victories, the BT26 established itself as one of the most legendary race cars of its era.
