The Matra Rancho Wagon 1977 is a unique and striking workhorse of a vehicle. It was manufactured by the French carmaker, Matra, during the early to mid 1970s, and was widely exported all over Europe and even made its way to South Africa. It has a timeless look with reliable and robust engines which have allowed it to continue to be a popular choice for those looking for a reliable run around or even an off-roading vehicle. The cars bodywork is angular and the front grille features four rectangular openings that flow up the hood to the iconic central M logo. It has a square bonnet with a distinctive air intake, as well as large headlights that sit either side of the bonnet. On the side, its robust boxy shape with a large square side windows continues the retro look. The wide alloy wheels also increase the ruggedness of the Rancho Wagon. In terms of engines, the car came with a range of petrol and diesel engines ranging in size from 1.3-2.5 litres. All of these power plants combined with the cars beefy handling makes it a capable car for off-roading, as well as urban driving.
