The March 811 F1 OW 1981 was a Formula One car designed and manufactured in 1981 by the British racing team, March Engineering. This single-seater car embodied aerodynamic efficiency, mechanical sophistication, sleek beauty, and superior performance. The car featured a lightweight aluminium monocoque chassis, a 1200cc flat-10 turbocharged engine, and aluminium ancillaries. The external elements had an aerodynamically sculpted profile with a low-slung nosecone and a striking red livery, with black and white stripes running along the sides. Its cockpit was divided into two distinct areas: the front was home to the driver, with an adjustable seat, and the rear housed the critical controls and switches, including the shift lever and pedals. The March 811 F1 OW 1981 also made use of advanced suspension geometry, carbon-fibre brakes that offered excellent responsiveness with minimal brake fade during high-heat racing conditions, and an adjustable rear wing to provide greater stability at high speeds. In total, the 811 had 14 Grand Prix starts, with a best finish of fourth place in the 1981 Brazilian Grand Prix. The March 811 F1 OW 1981 embodied sophistication, elegance, and performance, making it an iconic Formula One car of its era.
