The International BC1890 Tractor Trailer Truck was an impressive workhorse vehicle mass-produced in 1959. This powerful truck, adorned with red and white livery, was an obvious standout. Standing 15 feet tall with a length of 40 feet from cab to trailer, this behemoth turned heads wherever it went. At the front of the BC1890 was an intimidating grille, crafted using black painted sheet metal and bearing Internationals signature vertical line and, below, a prominently displayed badge reading International Harvester. Above the grille, a bulging Squarehead cab rested on functional dual wheels, providing a safe and comfortable cockpit for the driver. The cab door was equipped with a fold down window, giving the driver a panoramic view. The heart of the International BC1890 was its reliable 7.0-litre V8 gasoline engine. This robust motor was capable of delivering 230 horsepower and 890 lb-ft of torque enough to efficiently power the large, two-trailer combination. The BC1890 could cruise fine down a highway at 60 miles per hour and exceeded in more rugged off-road conditions. The impressiveness of the BC1890 didnt just end with its performance capabilities. This vehicle also boasted an abundance of thoughtful, user-friendly features. An array of interior controls, from a temperature indicator and tachometer to carefully placed mirrors, ensured efficiency and comfort. On the exterior, a wide, rear-facing champagne-colored bumper provided both safety and style. Up top, a durable, long-reaching draw bar offered an unlimited range of attachment possibilities. The International BC1890 Tractor Trailer Truck 1959 was an impressive combination of style, power and dependability an iconic symbol of the universal workhorse.
