The Bedford QLR truck is a powerful and reliable 4x4 truck designed for military use and off-road driving. It was manufactured by the British vehicle manufacturer, Vauxhall Motors and first produced in 1941 during World War II. It was used extensively by the British Armed Forces during the war and was used across a variety of terrains including muddy grassland, rocky terrains, snow-covered areas, desert-like terrain and even on the beaches. The Bedford QLR truck is equipped with a 350 cubic inch, six-cylinder petrol engine which produces 115 horsepower. The transmission is a four-speed manual with a choice of diesel or gasoline fuel, as well as being able to accept different body designs depending on its use. The four-wheel drive system was one of the most efficient adopted at the time, allowing the truck to be very robust on rough terrain. Its ten-foot-long frame allows the truck to be easily maneuverable, enabling it to be driven in narrow roads as well as off-road. Other notable features include a 30-gallon fuel tank capacity, a closely-fitted canvas cabin to protect from adverse weather, front and rear axles both independent and easily adjustable, among others.
