Specifications ATS D3/02 Ford Cosworth F1 OW 1980 blueprint

The Ford Cosworth ATS D3/02 is a classic Formula One car from 1980, and an example of the golden era in Formula Ones history. It is powered by a powerful Ford Cosworth DFV V8 engine that provided the car with an amazing 468.5 horsepower. The car also featured a Hewland five-speed manual transmission. It had a carbon-fibre and aluminium honeycomb monocoque chassis with a wheelbase of 2639mm, making it one of the longest cars on the grid back in 1980. The four-wheel independent double-wishbone suspension with radial arms and torsion bars allowed for great levels of downforce thus providing the driver with great levels of grip. The D3/02 featured five-spoke magnesium alloy wheels with oversized tires giving it plenty of practicality in all race conditions, whereas the Brembo Disc brakes provided great stopping power when needed. This legendary car raced at 13 Grands Prixs during the 1980 World Championship season and delivered some impressive results, with its drivers Jean-Pierre Jabouille and Marc Surer achieving one pole position each, one fastest lap and thirteen World Championship points. The D3/02 marked the end of Ford Cosworths collaboration with ATS, and it remains one of the most iconic Formula One cars of its time. It is an extremely desirable car, and it has since become a highly sought-after collectors item. Its legendary status and stunningly classic looks continue to make it one of the most iconic Formula One racers ever created. The ATS D3/02 Ford Cosworth F1 OW 1980 is a timeless and iconic reminder of a great era in Formula One history.
