It features a long nose, a straight mid-wing, and clean, tapered wings which provide it with good aerodynamics. The Suchoi Su-9 was also fitted with an N-37 37 mm cannon, two ShVAK 20 mm autocannons, and two UBK-23mm cannons, giving it a formidable offensive capability. Its 2300 hp AM-37VK piston engine, two-bladed VD-11 propeller, and ORTs-30 takeoff assistance system make it one of the strongest fighters produced by Suchoi. It's usage saw action in WW2 and the Korean War, and while it is now obsolete, thisclassic fighter still lives on in the memories of the men and women who flew it.
