The Macchi MC.202 Folgore was a World War II Italian fighter aircraft produced by Macchi Aeronautica. It was a single-engine, all-metal monoplane with a monocoque fuselage and semi-elliptical wings. Its wing-mounted machine guns and two 20mm cannons gave it formidable firepower, while its slim design and powerful engine made it one of the most nimble and agile fighters of its time. It was extremely maneuverable, with an excellent rate of climb and a climb speed of 2,700 feet (823 meters) per minute. Pilots praised its light handling and responsiveness at any speed, as well as its excellent range and maneuverability in combat. Its sturdy construction also contributed to its combat effectiveness, as it was able to withstand significant punishment without showing signs of wear. In addition, it was equipped with a luxurious cockpit which made life easier for pilots during sorties. The Macchi MC.202 made a lasting impact on the battlefield, and its legacy lives on to this day.
