The Ducati Supersport 998R (2002) is a naturally-aspirated sportbike powered by a 998cc 90-degree L-twin Desmodromic air-cooled engine. The engine is capable of producing 99 kw (133 hp) at 9000rpm and its power is delivered to the rear wheel through a six-speed transmissions. The engine is fuel-injected and combines with the advanced chassis to offer a precise ride for the enthusiast rider. The engine is mated to a Ducati trellis frame, which is constructed of lightweight aluminium and offers superb rigidity and strength. The suspensions on the 998R are adjustable for both spring pre-load and rebound damping, allowing the rider to tailor settings to their own preferences. The Ohlins-type inverted front forks and the remote adjustable Sachs monoshock at the rear handled the quick transitions from the corners to the straights. The braking system features dual 320mm semi-floating discs and four-piston radial calipers in front, while at the rear a 212mm disc and a two-piston caliper. To complete the package, the Supersport 998R (2002) features 17-inch light-alloy alloy wheels and sporty styling to match the performance of the bike. With its aggressive lines and lightweight construction, the Ducati Supersport 998R is an absolute beast capable of tearing up the twisties and carving up corners.
