The Opel Blitz Truck 1944 was a heavy-duty cargo truck that was widely used by the German Army during World War II. The vehicle was equipped with a 3.5-liter, six-cylinder, water-cooled gasoline engine, which produced 54 horsepower. The all-Wheel Drive 4-Wheel Steering system allowed excellent maneuverability, and adjustable suspension enabled the truck to handle rough terrain. The cab of the truck was made of steel with an interior made of leather and flight instruments. It was able to transport up to two and a half tons of cargo and was primarily used as an infantry transport vehicle. The truck also had an extended, folding windshield and a canvas cover for the open cargo bed. The vehicle was painted with a camouflage paint job that consisted of tan, olive green, and black colors. The visible headlights of the truck gave it an intimidating look. Its great combination of off-road capabilities, capacity, and reliability made it one of the most significant vehicles to emerge in WW2. Despite its utilitarian looks, its continued presence in war zones has ensured its place amongst war legends.
