The McLaren MP4/6 is a Formula One racing car which was raced by Ayrton Senna and Gerhard Berger during the 1991 Formula One season. It was a refinement of the successful MP4/5B chassis, which had won the 1990 driver's world championship. The MP4/6 was powered by the Honda RA121E 3.5 litre V10, producing 740 horsepower and 550 lb/ft of torque. This was mated to a 6-speed semi-automatic gearbox, which allowed for both automated and manual changes. The car featured electronic driver aids, including traction control and active suspension, which helped to keep it well balanced on the track. In addition to its performance, the MP4/6 was also notable for its distinctive good looks. The body was made from carbon fibre, giving it a lightweight but aerodynamic shape. The car featured a red, white and gold livery with a signature reverse-sloped nose. The MP4/6 made its debut at the 1991 Japanese Grand Prix, where Senna won the race. It would go on to win a total of six of the seventeen races that year, and helped Senna to secure his third Drivers' World Championship. Overall, the MP4/6 was an incredibly successful car. Its combination of innovative engineering and good looks made it a standout amongst its peers, cementing its place as one of the greatest Formula 1 cars of all time.
