The KrAZ-258Z Truck 1966 was a heavy-duty truck designed and manufactured in the former Soviet Union. It was used in all gauges of construction and off-road work. The design for the truck was modular, making it ideal for both civilian and military use with the ability to quickly modify it with a range of optional equipment. The truck was fitted with a V-shaped 6-cylinder YAMZ-238 gasoline engine producing 111 hp. This engine provided it with a top speed of 65mph on flat asphalt roads and a range of up to 400 miles. The truck was fitted with 6×4 all-wheel drive with mechanical steering. It has 4-wheel disc brakes and was fitted with leaf-spring suspension for a comfortable ride. The cargo capacity of the truck is 8.5 tons and could be increased to up to 15 tons utilizing a trailer. The cabin was designed for up to 3 people, with a space below the seats for supplies. The Cab has windows on both sides, providing excellent visibility for the driver. The fuel tank capacity was 200 liters, providing for lengthy trips and providing a greater range than some of its other contemporaries. The KrAZ-258Z Truck is a rugged and utilitarian vehicle that displays excellent performance and reliability in a wide range of environments.
