The GAZ M20 Pobeda Sedan 1948 is an iconic piece of Soviet automotive design. Produced from 1946 to 1958, the Pobeda was the first post-WWII model manufactured by the GAZ plant, and its success would go on to inspire a whole generation of advanced and luxurious Soviet cars. The Pobeda was built on a sturdy steel frame and featured a long wheelbase for a spacious interior. The exterior featured the characteristic Nissan grill and classic Soviet styling, with sleek, sweeping lines and plenty of chrome accents. Despite its age, the car still looks modern and stylish. The interior of the car is just as modern and luxurious. Standard interior features included leather upholstery, a bakelite steering wheel, and the latest technologies of the time – including an electric clock, a 300 watt audio system, and air conditioning. The car was equipped with a 2.2-liter, inline four-cylinder engine and manual transmission. The car was known for its reliability and durability, making it a popular choice for long-distance touring. For a vintage car, the Pobeda was surprisingly comfortable, and the combination of its state-of-the-art technology and classic styling had made it an instant classic. Although the car is no longer in production, its influence can still be seen today in Soviet and Eastern European cars.
