The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Yenko SC Coupe is a special performance car produced by Chevrolets Yenko Super Car (Yenko SC) division. The Yenko SC was intended to be a high-performance version of the Camaro, capable of competing with muscle cars produced by Ford and GMs other divisions. The 1969 Camaro Yenko SC is powered by a unique, specially built 454 cubic-inch engine with impressively high compression ratios, solid lifters, and larger valves. This allowed the engine to produce 450 HP, meaning that the Yenko SC was the most powerful Camaro available at the time. To handle the increased power, the Yenko SC featured a four-speed manual transmission, heavy-duty rear axles, and special 14-inch wheels with Goodyear Polyglas tires. The Yenko SC also had a lifted hood scoop, an extra-wide rear spoiler, and a matte-black hood to reduce the amount of glare from the sun. Inside, the Yenko SC had Recaro bucket seats and an upgraded interior trim. With its unique performance and racing-inspired design, the 1969 Yenko SC is one of the most collectable and desirable muscle cars ever created.
