The AAR Eagle 104 F1 OW 1967 is a single-seat, open-wheel racing car built by the American Automobile Racing (AAR) team, based in the United States. It is a classic Formula One car, built just before the advent of the ground effects era and, as such, it features the classic wedge-shaped monocoque body and open-wheel design of its peers. The Eagle 104 was powered by a Ford Cosworth DFV 3.0L V8 engine, capable of producing 450 horsepower. The Eagle also features a 6-speed Hewland-ZF gearbox as well as a Hewland-AP suspension setup consisting of two wishbones, a rocker arm and a stabilizing bar per corner. It also sports magnesium wheels and four-piston ZF brake calipers. Other elements include an aerodynamically efficient body, adjustable front and rear wing elements, and a driver adjustable cockpit dome. In terms of performance, the Eagle 104 proved to be a formidable machine, capable of reaching speeds in excess of 200 mph and producing some of the best lap times in the 1967 Formula One season. Its top places were 8th and 11th place at the Italian and Monaco Grand Prix, respectively. The Eagle 104 is a classic example of American automobile engineering and racing, fusing a powerful engine and an efficient aerodynamic design into an iconic, powerful and fast racing machine.
