The JAS39 Gripen is a single-engine multirole fighter jet designed and developed by the renowned Swedish aerospace manufacturer Saab. First flown in 1988, it is one of the most technologically advanced fighter jets in the world and is used by seven nations including Sweden, Hungary, Czech Republic, South Africa, and Thailand. The Gripen was designed to replace the Saab 37 Viggen in the Swedish Air Force and is characterized by its high degree of information and situational awareness, low maintenance, efficient in-flight performance, and affordability.
