The Nakajima Ki44ii was a singleseat fighter interceptor of Imperial Japans ground forces. The aircraft was developed by the Nakajima plant DB with the guidance of chief designer Y. Koyama based on experience gained in aerial battles in China and HalhinGol. During the years of production in 19421944 almost 1.2 thousand units were produced. Although the fighter was not made by parties such as Hayabusa due to the complexity of management was not popular among airmen it showed good results in the confrontation with American bombers. As a consequence by mid1944 a lot of air defense regiments were arming Nakajima Ki44ii.
