The Douglas SBD Dauntless Fearless is a world war II dive bomber and reconnaissance plane. It was producing by Douglas Aircraft company in 19401944 realized about 6 thousand units. It was the most famous and significant bomber of the US Navy. Dauntless was thoroughly outdated by the time America entered the war. But it proved itself worthily in five major naval battles where only carrierbased aircrafts fought. In 1942 it sank more ships than all other aircrafts combined.
