Gossamer Albatross America was the first aircraft on human muscle strength that was capable of stable long flight. It was built by Dr. Paul B. McCredie the aviation engineer in AeroVironment. The number of elements was reduced the structure was made of carbon and polystyrene to completely minimize its weight. The structures weight was about 70 pounds ca. 32 kilogram. Two models were assembledone was to overcome the English Channel 37 km. In 2 hours and 49 minutes in 1977 the second was for NASAs Langley flight research program in 1980. It was used at NRG Astrodom Stadium. It was presented at Aviation Museum in Seattle United States.
