The Volkswagen Beetle 1300 Coupe is a model of Volkswagen Beetle, first produced in 1972. It was the successor to the Beetle 1200, and was available in both coupe and convertible models. The Beetle 1300 Coupe was a reimagining of the classic archetype, featuring a longer rear deck and more curvaceous styling. Under the hood, the 1300 Coupe was powered by a four-speeder, 1.3L four-cylinder Boxer engine, capable of producing 50 hp. The power was transferred to the front wheels through a 4-speed manual gearbox. On the exterior, the 1300 Coupe featured a distinctive curved windshield and enameled steel wheels and bumpers. The interior featured a complete dashboard with a 6V battery, ashtray, glove- box, and a full length armrest. It also had a complete set of instruments, including a speedometer and odometer. The Beetle 1300 also featured a powerful braking system for a vehicle of its size, with dual drum brakes for the front wheels and single fin-type drum brakes for the rear wheels. The Beetle 1300 was a favorite among motorists in Europe, due to its good fuel economy and low maintenance costs. The Beetle 1300 Coupe was a cool and sporty model, a great reminder of an iconic era in Volkswagen history.
