The Stanley Steamer Model Ex-Runabout OW 1907 was an innovative and iconic vehicle of the time. This two-seater runabout featured a body that was large for its time, and was designed with comfort and luxury features in mind. The body was constructed of hardwood, and the exterior was finished with beautiful beveled panels and a glossy, paint finish that made the steamer look sleek and stylish. Under the hood was a two-cylinder steam engine that produced 20 horsepower. This powerful engine enabled the steamer to attain speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. With its high power and speed, the steamer was one of the fastest automobiles ever created. The seating was generously wide and comfortable which made for a pleasant drive. Additionally, the vehicle was equipped with a locking storage trunk, and a toolbox on its running board. Besides its impressive performance and luxurious creature comforts, the Model Ex-Runabout OW 1907 was quite advanced for its time as it featured a tiller rather than a steering wheel to operate the vehicle – a common feature of all Stanleys. This steamer truly stands out and its long-lasting beauty and bold features still make it a stunning vehicle to behold.
