The 1957 Skoda 450 Felicia Coupe was a four-door saloon that was produced and sold in Czechoslovakia from 1957 until 1961. It was Skodas first mass-produced model, engineering and interior design were heavily inspired by the popular German Volkswagen Beetle. Externally, the car featured a curved hood and rounded headlights, with an upright grille in the shape of a triangle with a chrome frame that was mounted at the front of the car. The Skoda had contoured wheel arches, while the bodywork was slightly more sculpted than the Volkswagen Beetle. The entire body was made of steel and finished in a single pastel hue, with the wheels and grille in a gloss silver finish. The 452 Felicia came with a number of engine options, including a 1.1 litre petrol engine and a 1.2 litre diesel engine, both of which were air-cooled. The petrol option had a maximum power output of 40hp, while the diesel option developed 37hp. Inside the Skoda, the interior trim was basic but functional. There were very few amenities, such as electric windows or air-conditioning, but it did come with a speedometer, a centrally mounted instrument cluster, and a three-way switch that controlled the wipers, heater and indicators. The car's cabin stayed relatively cool during the summer months, thanks to the advanced ventilation system. The steering wheel was a three-spoke design and the seating was upholstered with grey vinyl material. The Skoda 450 Felicia was a versatile car that offered good levels of performance and reliability. It was also relatively affordable and easy to maintain, making it a popular choice for small families in Czechoslovakia in the late 1950s.
