The Seagrave Gorham Fire Truck 1913 is an impressive and commanding vehicle that has assisted firefighters for over a century. It was built by the Seagrave Fire Apparatus Company and launched in 1913. It features a bold red livery with gold-colored detailing and wheel rims, providing a classic and distinctive look to the fire truck. The body of the truck is constructed from a sturdy steel frame and is encased with polished steel panels that provide a low profile making the truck surprisingly agile for its size. A mechanic manual crank at the front of the truck allows for the 180-degree turning of the four-wheeled apparatus. The truck is powered by an in-line 4-cylinder gasoline engine and carries up to 200 gallons of water in two tanks. Its two-stage centrifugal pump can provide up to 1000 gallons of water per minute at a pressure of 100 to 120 psi. Firefighters can climb up to the steel platform at the rear of the truck to access the advance and rear-mounted ladders. In addition to the standard fire-fighting equipment, the 1913 Truck was outfitted with hoses, nozzles, a fire extinguisher, a water tank, and a siren. It also boasts several additional safety features such as additional lighting, brakes, and valves for added protection. The combination of its powerful engine and robust frame has allowed it to stand the test of time and remain in service in many parts of the world. The Seagrave Gorham Fire Truck 1913 will continue to provide reliable and courageous service for firefighters as it has for many generations.
