The Plymouth Duster Sport Coupe 1972 is a rather rare vehicle, thanks to its unique design and low production numbers. This 2-door beauty was Plymouth's idea of a muscle car, initially powered by a 340 cubic inch V8 engine that could be mated with either a 3- or 4-speed manual transmission, or the optional 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic. The exterior featured a unique three-part grille design with chrome around the perimeter and a center divider, as well as round headlights flanking a bigger rectangular-shaped grille and wide fender lips. The interior was designed to be both comfortable and functional, with standard front bucket seats, a center console with storage, and a tilt steering column. The Sport Coupe featured an upgraded suspension that included heavy duty sway bars, stiffer springs, and gas-charged shocks which could be further upgraded with the optional Sports Suspension package. The car rolled on steel wheels with classic styled chrome rim detailed wheel covers and a sporty look. Production of the Sport Coupe ran only for the 1972 model year, but they remain a rare and desirable Plymouth today.
