The Maki F101C Ford Cosworth F1 OW 1975 is a rare, revolutionary race car developed by the Japanese race car constructor Masao Onishi. It was the first Japanese single-seater Formula One car and was the result of over two years of hard work and dedication. Constructed with a lightweight aluminium alloy space frame chassis, the Maki F101C boasted an impressive ground effect aerodynamic design which allowed for better grip at high speeds. The bodywork was made of composite material in order to keep the car's weight low and to make it more aerodynamically efficient. It was powered by a Ford Cosworth F1 engine that was capable of producing 670hp at 14,000 rpm. The engine was mated to a Hewland FG400 5-speed manual transmission, allowing the driver to control the gear shifts himself. The suspension system comprised of double wishbone, push-rod operated coil spring and rocker arms which provided excellent cornering and handling capabilities. The Maki F101C had 15'' wheels on the front and 17'' wheels on the rear which allowed it to reach speeds up to 220 mph. The Maki F101C Ford Cosworth F1 OW 1975 was an iconic race car that was one of the most advanced vehicles of its era. Its power, performance, and aerodynamics allowed it to compete at the highest levels of motorsport and make a statement within the world of racing.
