The Kaiser Jeep CJ-6 SUV, first manufactured in 1955, stands out as an iconic classic. Famous for its hardiness, off-road capability, and boxy styling, the CJ-6 SUV has earned its place in the history of four wheelers. With a wheelbase that was nearly 25 inches longer than its military Jeep predecessor, the CJ-6 provided practicality with better cargo capacity and storage. The SUV features tough, all-steel construction and a smooth, flat hood with rectangular-shaped grille. Its steering wheel was slim and narrow, and its instrument panel boasted a single dashboard switch controlling the headlights. The inner dashboard was finished in Spartan grey, while the exterior was available in a variety of two tone color options. Under the hood is the reliable 740-cubic inch four-cylinder engine with 72 horsepower, driving the four-wheel drivetrain. The SJ-6 provided a comfortable ride through its rugged, all-terrain tires. Its tall, stiff suspension ensured dependable off-road performance. To this day, the CJ-6 SUV remains one of the most beloved classic SUVs.
