Specifications Hesketh 308E F1 OW 1977 blueprint

The Hesketh 308E F1 OW, otherwise known as the "Heskit", is a 1970s Formula One race car produced by the Hesketh Racing company of Britain. This car was designed with an ethos of "maximum attack" in mind, laying the foundation for a period of innovation in Formula One design. This car features an aluminium honeycomb monocoque chassis and is powered by a 3.0L water-cooled V8 engine, producing 400 brake horsepower and a top speed of 200 mph. This engine is connected to a Hewland five-speed manual transmission, enabling it to fully harness the immense power output of the car. The car's aerodynamics are maximised with its low, wide body and advanced wings, which enable the vehicle to generate high levels of downforce at speed to keep it firmly planted on the track surface. In terms of handling, the car features a double-wishbone suspension system with adjustable anti-roll bars, and disc brakes at all four corners to help put the power to the track surface. The Hesketh 308E F1 OW also boasts an adjustable ride height, generated by a system of torsion bars and adjustable pushrods. It's iconic, Wedgewood-blue, paint job epitomizes the car's distinctive, yet sophisticated aesthetic. Drivers such as the late James Hunt and Clay Regazzoni have piloted the Hesketh 308E F1 OW to success, making it an iconic vehicle in the annals of Formula One racing. The car has since gained legendary status among motorsport enthusiasts, and rightfully so.
