The Ferrari F2004 was a Formula One car that was constructed by the Italian-based Ferrari team for the 2004 season. It was powered by a 3 litre, 90 degree V10 engine that produced around 850 horsepower and was driven by multiple world champion Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello. The car was designed by Formula One legend Rory Byrne and took the F2003-GA as a basis. The F2004 was the first of the highly successful Ferraris Maranello built between 2004 and 2008 and was the car that resulted in Schumachers incredible seventh Drivers Championship victory. The F2004 was an impressive machine in its debut season, finishing 1-2 in every race apart from Monaco where, notably, Schumacher conceded the win to Barrichello as according to some conspiracy theories, had not let him past. This proved to be one of, if not the most, successful season in the history of Formula One. The aerodynamics of the car were phenomenal with the front and rear wings superbly countered by the diffuser underneath. The engine was partially redesigned and the transmission was tweaked which made the car perfect for high speed circuits such as Imola, Monza and Barcelona. All these factors allowed the F2004 to take a record-breaking 15 of the 18 races it competed in, including an astounding 7 victories in a row. This car was made even more dominate due to changes in regulations. The new simple noses and grooves on the tyres allowed a lower ride height and increased stability the fuel tank enlarged and designed for increased fuel consumption which cut out the need to refuel and the tyres were changed from grooved to slick. The F2004 was Ferraris most dominant car in the history of Formula One, and complete data of this car can be found at Maranello in the Ferrari Museum. In the words of Ross Brawn, the F2004 was the ultimate classic of all racing cars.
