The Datsun Fairlady 260Z Coupe 1974 was a two-seater sports car that was the five-speed successor to the 240Z. Primarily designed for the United States market, it was part of the second generation of Nissan's Z-car line-up. With its lightweight chassis and aggressively styled aluminum panelling, the Fairlady 260Z Coupe provided an exciting and powerful ride for performance car enthusiasts. At a length of 4450mm, it was slightly longer and wider than its predecessor. With a weight of around 1176-1212kg, it was relatively lightweight for its size. The wheelbase was extended to 2350mm which increased interior space and improved handling. The most powerful engine option available was a 2.6-liter overhead-cam 6-cylinder engine that produced an impressive 150bhp and 181 Nm of torque. An independent suspension system was equipped on the front and rear allowing for a smooth and composed ride. Exterior details included side louvres behind the front wheel arch, a fibreglass spoiler and chrome trim on the bumpers. This gave the vehicle a classic and eye-catching look that was easily associated with the Z-car line-up. The interior was fitted with an array of features, including a revised dashboard, dual climate control, a tachometer and a period-accurate push button radio. The Recaro seats were a great addition to the driving experience and were immensely comfortable for longer journeys. All in all, the Datsun Fairlady 260Z Coupe 1974 offered an exciting package that focused on performance and driver enjoyment. With its sharp handling, agile performance and impressive looks, it is a truly timeless classic that is still appealing to many to this day.
