The Datsun Cedric 31 Station Wagon 1963 was a five-door family car with rounded, classic lines, designed to offer ample space and modern amenities. It featured a monocoque construction, a black grille, and a pair of curved headlights. Its distinctive front bumper, chrome accents, and two-tone trim gave it an unmistakable retro look. The interior offered plenty of seating for up to seven passengers, and featured original upholstery in blue and white, as well as wooden accents and air-conditioning. Its dashboard was designed with elegant, mid-century details, and the iconic Nippon Radio – an integral part of the Datsun experience – was standard. Under the hood, the Cedric 31 was powered by a reliable 1.9-litre engine. It included a four-speed manual transmission, and was able to reach a top speed of 85 mph. It also had the traditional rear wheel drive, which made it perfect for long drives and trips. As compared to its competitors, the Cedric 31 was considered easy to use and very forgiving to drive. It was also known as reliable and built to last, with a high resale value. Mainly due to its design, the model was very popular among families and in the used car market.
