The Chevrolet Suburban Carryall Wagon 1941 was the first-ever mass-produced model of the iconic Chevrolet Suburban. Built to serve as a multi-purpose vehicle, the Suburban was released in 1941 to meet the needs of families and business owners alike, providing additional cargo capacity and off-road capability over and above the available range of cars and trucks at the time. The first-generation Suburban featured a pressed steel chassis and wooden bodywork, with either an 80hp six-cylinder or 117hp V8 engine under the hood. Externally it featured bulbous fenders, a slashing two-piece grille and a curved-glass rear window, while inside there was room for up to 8 passengers with plenty of legroom and cargo space. Finishing touches included chrome accents and hood ornamentation. The 1941 Suburban was offered with two wheelbases, either 126 or 135 inches, and had a towing capacity of almost 4,000 pounds. With 4-wheel drive and the guts to take on tough terrain, plus plenty of space inside to fit the family and their gear, this versatile wagon was an indispensable tool for those venturing out into the wilds of America.
