The Ju 88 A4 was a German bomber aircraft used in World War II. With a wingspan of 16.85metres, a length of 14.56metres and a height of 4.4 metres, the Ju 88 A4 was a large and powerful aircraft. It was powered by two Junkers Jumo 211F diesel engines equipped with two-blade variable-pitch propellers which provided it with a maximum speed of 380 km/h and a range of 1,800 kilometres. Armament consisted of four 7.92mm machine guns in two dorsal and two ventral positions protecting the aircraft, complemented by an additional 2 machine guns in the tail. It could also carry up to 20mm of bombs or torpedoes. TheJu 88 A4 was used extensively in all kinds of combat scenarios, such as land and naval strikes, reconnaissance flights, and even as a bomber interceptor. It was the first airplane to use dive bombing and was the most versatile combat aircraft of the WWII, proving effective against ground and naval targets by its sheer strength and nimble maneuverability. Thanks to its reliability, simple construction, and economical operation, the Ju 88 A4 is considered by historians to be one of the most successful aircraft of the war.
